As a key member of our logistics and transportation team, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor trailer to collect recyclable materials from commercial customers.brbrbKey Responsibilities:/bbrulliSafely operate assigned vehicle along a designated route collecting recyclable materials from commercial customers in accordance with Company, Federal, State and Local laws and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (DOT) regulations/liliComplete daily pre/post trip inspections, reporting any safety concerns/liliAttend daily safety-tool box meetings/liliObtain daily work schedule, BOL's/liliCourteously interact with customers and dispatcher to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner/liliMaintain communication throughout the day with dispatcher accommodating route changes as needed/liliEnsure all pick-up, delivery and vehicle condition reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner/liliDemonstrate strong commitment to safety, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement/liliMaintain a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standards, including cleaning and trash removal from cab of truck/liliPerform other duties as assigned/li/ulbrbRequirements:/bbrulliValid Class A CDL (REQUIRED)/liliAbility to operate a manual transmission/liliMust be 21 years of age/liliMust have 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience/liliMust be authorized to work in the United States/liliMust be able to read, speak and write enough English to converse with the general public, read signs and signals, respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records/liliClean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)/liliCurrent DOT Medical card/liliAir Brakes Endorsement/liliMust pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and criminal background check/liliStrong customer service and communication skills/liliGood time management skills/liliPride in reliability and working with a team/liliFlexibility to work overtime and adapt to changes as needed/liliComfortable backing, maneuvering and parking a tractor trailer/liliMust be familiar with cargo loading procedures to assure proper distribution, location and security/liliMust be able to drive in a wide range of environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, rain, wind, snow, freezing temperatures, hot weather, etc./liliOn-the-job success in safety, attendance & quality of work expected/liliAbility to operate/monitor the following equipment: 48ft and 53ft Semi-Rig Box Van/Bobtail Trailers, Truck Trailer Forklift Unit (TTFU), Bale Trucks Roll On-Roll Off for Compactor Tubes and Drop Boxes, Packers/li/ulbrbAbout International Paper:/bbrbrInternational Paper is a leading global supplier of renewable fiber-based products.
