Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in performing a variety of technical procedures that require the application of non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves for diagnosis of disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examination and explain procedures in layman terms to relieve anxiety.
  • Position patients on examination tables for optimum testing procedures and conditions.
  • Set up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion.
  • Perform ultrasound procedures and recognize significance of all structures visualized on the oscilloscope.
  • Collect pertinent data and calculations for physician interpretation.
  • Ensure accuracy of all patient data and process imaging as required.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within one year of employment.
  • Previous ultrasound technologist experience preferred.
