Rehabilitation Specialist III FT Days Position Summary
The Rehabilitation Specialist III delivers comprehensive rehabilitation services to patients, encompassing assessment, treatment, program development, implementation, documentation, and effective communication. This role requires a high level of expertise in technical and organizational rehabilitation skills, alongside a robust knowledge base. The Rehabilitation Specialist III is expected to be self-motivated, adaptable, and innovative in patient care delivery. This position involves navigating complex situations with a collaborative approach, working alongside other healthcare professionals to help patients and their families achieve their goals. The Rehabilitation Specialist III plays a pivotal role in influencing the team positively, encouraging critical and creative thinking, and may establish mentoring relationships. Expert therapists are expected to lead by example, utilizing evidence-based practices and engaging in therapy-related research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations through impairment testing and interpret findings related to functional deficits.
- Identify clinical problems based on clinical judgment regarding the patient's response to health conditions or needs.
- Develop tailored treatment plans based on clinical assessments to provide individualized care aligned with established goals.
- Reassess patient needs and modify care plans as necessary, ensuring accurate documentation of status changes.
- Demonstrate proficiency in providing assessments and physical treatments related to various functional areas, including Sensory, Strength/Tone, Range of Motion, Balance/Coordination, and more.
- Administer physical therapy modalities such as Iontophoresis, Ultrasound, Electric Stimulation, and others as required.
- Educate patients and caregivers on body mechanics and treatment protocols.
- Identify contraindications and adhere to safety precautions relevant to patient care.
- Maintain proficiency in using and caring for essential rehabilitation equipment.
- Counsel patients and families regarding treatment options and home exercise programs.
- Actively engage in interdisciplinary team processes, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, including discharge planning.
- Mentor and guide support staff to achieve departmental objectives.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and quality enhancement measures within the department.
- Serve as a resource to promote the field of rehabilitation within Carondelet.
Qualifications:
- Education: Required: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree; Preferred: Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
- Licensure/Certification: Required: Valid license from the AZ State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners; CPR-BLS certification required.
- Experience: Required: Minimum of 3 years as a licensed Rehabilitation Specialist; Preferred: Prior patient exposure in relevant practice areas.
- Skills: Required: Strong verbal and written communication skills; Clinical skills reflecting diverse experience.
- Knowledge: Required: Advanced understanding of Rehabilitation theory and practice.
- Technology: Required: Basic computer skills; Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Other: Required: Flexibility to work varied hours, including holidays and weekends; Valid Arizona driver's license and proof of insurance required.
Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
