Job Title: Paraprofessional

At People Incorporated, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our Day Habilitation team. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in providing instruction and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them to develop daily living skills and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement daily schedules and programs as directed by the Program Director or Coordinator.
  • Document daily activities, including behavior services and progress towards goals.
  • Collaborate with the Day Habilitation team to provide premier services and support to program participants.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in our care.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, including dining, personal care, and hygiene.
  • Implement positive behavior supports and protocols to promote a safe and respectful environment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).
  • One year of experience in a healthcare, mental health, or developmental disability setting (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to escort, assist, and/or transport program participants.
  • Ability to work with individuals with mental health and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to physically restrain individuals exhibiting unsafe behavior.
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and directions.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with others.
