The Clinical Therapist - Referral Coordination Specialist is responsible for establishing and implementing quality clinical treatment and case management for children and adolescents with special mental health needs. This role involves providing individual, group, and family therapy, as well as rehabilitative services and case management in various settings. The successful candidate will also be responsible for completing all documentation and written reports required by the Agency.
Key Responsibilities
* Provides comprehensive mental health assessments on assigned clients to determine the need for mental health services.
* Develops treatment plans and goals based on assessed areas of needs and strengths identified in the assessment.
* Monitors and evaluates client's progress on identified goals in the treatment plan.
* Completes all required documentation in a timely manner for each assigned client and maintains a comprehensive set of treatment records as stipulated in the County Mental Health Plan (MHP) or other agencies responsible for program oversight.
* Acts as the liaison between the program and family/community agencies, including individuals such as Parents/Caregivers, Case Managers, County Social Workers, Teachers/Education Providers, and Probation Officers.
* Provides individual, family, and group counseling based on the needs of the clients served.
Requirements
* Completion of a clinical program with a Master's or Ph.D. degree in a field of behavioral science from an accredited educational institution.
* Holds a current license registration issued by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (AMFT, ACSW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC).
* Must possess a valid California driver's license, personal automobile insurance, and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency's
Personnel Policy:
Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
* Must be physically and mentally fit in accordance with the Agency's
Personnel Policy:
Physical Fitness Standards and Examinations. Must be willing to complete a Tuberculosis (TB), and drug screening test.
* Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California.
* Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification (only when required by local county or program).
* Must be flexible to work a varying schedule according to operational needs.
Working Conditions
* The Clinical Therapist - Referral Coordination Specialist will work in a residential, office, or outdoor environment, requiring adequate range of body motion and mobility to perform tasks such as standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), alternating between standing and sitting for extended periods of time, bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, balancing, and occasional carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently.
* Physically able to walk up and down stairs routinely.
* Physically able to perform Pro-ACT Restraint Techniques (Residential Programs Only), CPR, and First Aid as trained.
* Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in a vehicle for traveling to recreational activities, home visits, DCFS, and court locations which may be up to 100 miles driving distance.
* Requires the ability to utilize computer and telephone systems, which includes the coordination of eye and hand and fine manipulation by the hands and fingers for typing, writing, and working with files.
