About the Role

Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehab is seeking a Part-time Resident Driver/Delivery Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Life Enrichment Department, you will play a vital role in transporting residents to and from leisure outings, assisting with delivery and motor vehicle operation work.


This position involves transporting residents by assisting ambulatory and non-ambulatory individuals to enter and leave the vehicle under the supervision of the Life Enrichment staff. You will receive instructions for trips and assist with coordination prior to the day of the trip. Leisure outings may include activities such as shopping, sports events, dining out, and scenic tours. The driver will take direction on leisure outings from LE staff members and develop a rapport with both residents and staff in a nurturing environment.


The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of methods and techniques used in safely loading, securing and unloading passengers onto paratransit vehicles using a 5-point tie-down system. Additionally, they will possess skills in the operation and basic maintenance of assigned motor vehicles, be able to find geographic locations within the County and the immediate area, follow oral and written instructions, and keep records of activities and tasks completed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport residents to and from leisure outings
  • Assist with delivery and motor vehicle operation work
  • Safely load, secure and unload passengers onto paratransit vehicles
  • Operate and maintain assigned motor vehicles
  • Find geographic locations within the County and the immediate area

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A safe driving record with a clear Motor Vehicle Report
  • Experience working with the elderly and disabled population
  • Compassion, patience and empathy
