Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at The University of Kansas Health System. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of medications to our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, and total parenteral nutrition.
  • Operate computer systems to accurately input medication orders and obtain necessary patient information.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory and record keeping in accordance with state and federal law.
  • Assure timely distribution of prescribed medications and stock items as needed.
  • Utilize effective listening and communication skills to maintain supervisor awareness of personal and team activities affecting the department.
  • Participate in personal goal setting and ongoing development of team members.
  • Share expertise by participating in the orientation and education of pharmacy employees and students.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) successful initial completion of PTCB or equiv National Pharmacy Technician Certification examination in accordance with Board of Pharmacy registration requirements.
  • Pharmacy Technician Registration - State Board of Pharmacy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 1 or more years experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital pharmacy offering comprehensive pharmacy services.

Work Schedule

This is a 7 days on, 7 days off structure from 7:30pm - 7am. This schedule also receives midnight and weekend shift differential pay.
