Job Title: Staff Therapist

Join the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Staff Therapist in the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) team. As a licensed or license-eligible professional, you will provide individual and group therapy, assessment, and outreach programming to students. You will also supervise practicum students and interns, participate in crisis intervention, and consult with university community members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality mental health services to students, including individual and group therapy, assessment, and outreach programming.
  • Supervise and train practicum students and interns in the CAPS team.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and provide on-call services as needed.
  • Consult with university community members and participate in counseling-related campus committees.
  • Stay current with best practices in mental health and adhere to the standards of practice in the field.
Requirements:
  • Relevant professional degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and licensure in the appropriate clinical field of psychology, social work, or mental health practice.
  • Board eligibility for licensure by the North Carolina Board of Psychology or Social Work. Board certification is expected.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current knowledge in depth of the field and its standards of practice.
  • Commitment to the practice of quality mental health services, including a commitment to human value in that practice.
  • Special interest in the university setting and the processes of maturation that occur during college years, undergraduate and graduate.
  • Ability to work with other professional staff and support staff to produce integrated professional services.
