GIS Instructor

About the Role

As a Principal Instructor-Defense/Intel, you'll play a pivotal role in creating a dynamic learning environment through hands-on training, interactive instructions, and engaging activities. Your teaching skills, GIS knowledge, and ability to communicate the strategic impact of GIS programs will be essential in driving customer success.

Key Responsibilities

1. User Skills Growth

• Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs through various formats and methods to enhance users' proficiency in ArcGIS software. Identify and address skill gaps through targeted training sessions and workshops.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to users, answering their questions and helping them overcome challenges.

• Collaborate with customers to understand their business processes and requirements.
• Provide guidance and training on best practices for designing and implementing sustainable GIS workflows.

• Actively promote the adoption of ArcGIS across customer groups.
• Identify potential use cases for ArcGIS in various business processes and demonstrate its value through facilitation.

• Develop compelling narratives and visualizations to effectively communicate the impact of GIS programs.
• Collaborate with Content Development and Creation teams to create engaging content, such as case studies and success stories.

Requirements

1. 8+ years of professional experience leveraging Esri's software capabilities, with at least 5 years applying GIS principles and technology in support of the defense and intelligence community.
2. 2+ years of professional experience in classroom facilitation and instructional delivery.
3. Strong listening skills and the ability to incorporate feedback to continuously improve instructional delivery and course materials.
4. Proven ability to collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. US citizenship and willingness to obtain a security clearance.
7. 20% travel time within the year to support an average of 10-15 onsite customer training sessions per year.
8. Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Information Science, or a related field.

Total Rewards

Esri's competitive total rewards strategy includes industry-leading health and welfare benefits, minimum accrual of 80 hours of vacation leave, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $83,000-$120,000, USD.
