Position Summary

The CT Imaging Specialist is responsible for producing high-quality computerized tomographic images of specific anatomical regions, adhering to established protocols. Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating imaging equipment to capture radiographs.
  • Positioning patients safely using appropriate devices.
  • Adjusting equipment settings to optimize image quality.
  • Communicating procedures clearly to patients and addressing their inquiries.
  • Assisting physicians during invasive imaging procedures.
  • Managing film exposure and development processes.
  • Utilizing mobile imaging equipment in various settings.
  • Documenting patient information accurately using computerized systems.
  • Understanding and addressing the unique needs of different patient demographics.
  • Mentoring new staff members in imaging practices.
  • Implementing radiation safety measures to protect patients and staff.
  • Ensuring a secure environment for administering contrast materials.
  • Transporting patients as needed.
  • Adhering to Standard Precautions and utilizing personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in Radiology or MRI preferred.
  • Specific training in CT imaging is advantageous.
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Florida State License in Radiologic Technology is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • ARRT certification in Radiology and CT must be obtained within six months of hire.
