Job Title: Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional will provide personalized support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This includes assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and advocating for their needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Support individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, promoting their mental and emotional well-being.
  • Assist individuals with accessing community resources, such as healthcare services, education, and recreational activities.
  • Advocate for individuals' rights and needs, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
  • Collaborate with other support staff and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in caregiving or a related field preferred.
  • Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & Year 2) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid California driver's license.
