We are currently looking for a Production Operator (temp-to-perm) to become a part of our Manufacturing Operations team.

Key Responsibilities

The Production Operator will report to the Shift Supervisor and will be tasked with learning and executing various pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including dispensing, blending, granulation, compression, encapsulation, and coating. Cross-training will be provided as necessary after mastering each technique. The Operator is expected to complete all tasks while adhering to GMP and Safety protocols, including proper documentation and gowning procedures.

Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities

  • Maintain cleanliness of product rooms and equipment, such as mills, mixers, ovens, and granulators.
  • Prepare the dispensing area according to SOPs and specifications outlined in the Batch Manufacturing Record.
  • Document all setups and cleaning activities in the logbook and relevant paperwork.
  • Dispense raw materials from the warehouse in accordance with SOPs and Production Batch Records; verify information on approved raw and packaging materials.
  • Issue raw materials as per Batch Manufacturing Records and accurately record issuance details in Production Batch Records and inventory logs.
  • Check expiry and retest dates of all materials prior to dispensing.
  • Operate granulation and coating equipment, including Coating Pans and dust collectors.
  • Compress and encapsulate products as specified in the Batch Manufacturing Records.
  • Ensure that the department and work areas are maintained in a clean and orderly manner, following SOPs for equipment cleaning.
  • Consistently observe and practice all cGMP policies and procedures in all tasks performed.
  • Adhere to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safety Policies in all work performed. Follow work schedules and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Participate in and successfully complete all required training.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a GMP environment, preferably in Oral Solid Dose manufacturing or a similar role.
  • Ability to wear respiratory protection (medical clearance required).
  • Proficient computer skills and effective communication abilities, both oral and written.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Effective communication skills for small group interactions.
  • Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Proficient in using a computer for training and interfacing with mechanical or control systems.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
