AECOM Civil Engineer II Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer II to join our team in Conshohocken, PA. As a Civil Engineer II, you will work in an interdisciplinary environment, collaborating with a team of technical staff and project managers to support our clients in the mid-Atlantic area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and complete civil engineering and grading plans, calculations, and other design elements to support permit applications in Pennsylvania and other states.
  • Work with the project Professional Engineer and other team members on civil design, drainage, and stormwater management plans and design, supporting calculations, and permit applications.
  • Attend client and/or agency meetings on behalf of AECOM.
  • Perform field work for stormwater management facilities installation inspections, erosion and sediment control, transportation, permit closeout, infiltration testing, and other tasks related to the project.
  • Work with the EPP team on a variety of utility construction and environmental impact assessment projects.
  • Prepare and maintain internal and external project documentation, including quality control documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams such as cultural resources, ecologists, GIS staff, geologists, and other technical experts.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in Civil Engineering or a related field +2 years of Civil Engineering-related project work, civil site design, drainage, water resources, permit requirements, or other relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3-D.
  • Valid Driver's License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NCEES Principles and Practice of Engineering Examination (EIT) certification for at minimum Pennsylvania.
  • Knowledge and experience with plan design and creation for erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, grading, and drainage or other project elements and permits.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS or other engineering software.
  • Utility permitting and design experience, technical writing capabilities, and working knowledge of state environmental regulations and requirements.
  • High degree of self-motivation and performance.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent and relevant references.
