Position Overview:
The Cardiac Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting both diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac assessments on patients utilizing advanced ultrasound technology to assess cardiac function. The examination techniques include Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress Testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts comprehensive echocardiography assessments using ultrasound technology to evaluate cardiac health through Transthoracic and Transesophageal methods, as well as Cardiac Stress Testing.
- Exhibits proficiency in performing both non-invasive and invasive cardiac evaluations.
- Possesses a thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy, procedural protocols, and result interpretation.
- Prepares and monitors patients throughout the examination process.
- Utilizes the electronic medical record system to access patient data and document significant findings.
- Availability for on-call duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a relevant health science field, ideally with a focus on cardiovascular technology or ultrasonography.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Credentialing in echocardiography is required from one of the following organizations:
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of experience in the role of a Cardiac Sonographer is preferred.
- Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Picture Archiving Communication Systems (PACS) is preferred.
