As an integral member of our healthcare team, the Advanced Practice Clinician will engage in a multitude of essential tasks and technical procedures vital for patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care management. This role also encompasses participation in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and educational programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial patient assessments, including comprehensive history taking and physical examinations.
- Develop, document, and communicate individualized care plans, ensuring thorough preparation and screening of patients.
- Perform daily rounds to monitor patient progress and adjust care as necessary.
- Write and manage orders for medications, laboratory tests, and diagnostic procedures.
- Analyze and interpret laboratory results and diagnostic findings.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.
- Document discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals in patient records upon discharge.
- Educate patients on post-discharge care instructions and follow-up needs.
- Execute additional duties as required, recognizing that all listed responsibilities are essential functions of the role under applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required. Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program is mandatory.
- Must possess a current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
- NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential.
- Alternatively, a Master's Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program with National Board Certification in the specialty area is acceptable.
- Must hold a valid Nurse Practitioner license and Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
- A collaborative practice agreement with established protocols filed with the New York State Department of Education or a collaborative relationship attestation per the Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act 2015 is required.
- Current BLS certification is also necessary.

The salary range provided reflects a good faith estimate of potential base compensation for successful candidates at the time of this job advertisement. This range may be adjusted in the future based on various factors, including location, specialty, service line, relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget considerations, and internal equity.
