At ServiceNow, we're on a mission to make the world work for everyone. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure to ensure its scalability, security, and reliability.

We're looking for a highly skilled professional with experience in Puppet and Python development to join our team. If you have a strong background in systems engineering and a passion for automation, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement configuration management for ServiceNow's servers in private and public clouds
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of the configuration management infrastructure
  • Manage code reviews for configuration management code
  • Plan and execute upgrades on system and application levels
  • Participate in moving the code base to newer technologies using Red Hat tooling
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant experience
  • 4+ years of experience in system administration on Linux servers (Red Hat preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in configuration management tools like Puppet (preferred) or Salt
  • 2+ years of experience developing in Python
  • 2+ years of experience in automation frameworks (bash, Ansible)
  • 2+ years of experience in monitoring tools like Prometheus and log aggregation tools like Splunk
  • Ability to solve problems at scale
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
