Orlando Operating Room Nurse Positions

We're seeking highly skilled Operating Room Registered Nurses for immediate travel nurse openings in Valparaiso, IN. With 1-2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, and/or RN first assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care.
The successful candidate will assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, delivering pre- and post-surgery care, and educating patients on their treatment plans. As an OR Travel Nurse with Travel Nurse Across America, you will have the opportunity to work in various operating suites, preparing instruments, monitoring patients, and responding to potential complications alongside physicians.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing Basic Bedside Care: Assisting patients with daily needs, ensuring comfort, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Medication Management: Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medications while monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Liaison between Patients and Medical Staff: Serving as a communication link between patients' family members and the operating team, addressing concerns, and providing updates.
- Surgical Procedure Coordination: Verifying that the correct procedure is being performed on the correct patient, ensuring accuracy and minimizing errors.
- Patient Education: Developing and implementing personalized education plans as prescribed by physicians, teaching patients and families how to manage medication and home care needs.
You may also be required to perform additional duties as a Circulating OR Nurse or Scrub OR Nurse, including:
- Circulating OR Nurses: Responding to patients' comfort and safety needs, accurately handling specimens, monitoring equipment used during surgery, and managing surgical item inventories.
- Scrub OR Nurses: Selecting and handling surgical instruments and supplies, inventorying surgical items before and after procedures.
As a travel nurse, you should be prepared to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. You should also be able to lift up to 20 pounds easily, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases is possible in the operating room environment.
We require our OR Travel Nurses to possess the following certifications and qualifications:
Requirements: ACLS, BLS, 3 Years. Additional certifications may be necessary prior to beginning your assignment.
