About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Project Manager to join our team at KL&A Engineers and Builders. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and executing projects related to existing structure evaluation and reuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Active participation in project design from concept to construction phase services.
  • Assistance in preparing proposals and setting project budgets.
  • Utilization of material testing methods and state-of-the-art repair techniques.
  • Travel for site visits to perform field assessments and write reports.
  • Application of engineering first principles to solve unique problems.
  • Maintenance of detailed knowledge of building codes.
  • Identification of project issues and provision of effective solutions.
  • Technical resource provision and assistance to project teams.
  • Overseeing the development of standards and processes related to building reuse and renovation.
  • Ability to work independently and in various team environments.
  • Autonomy to build and lead a team of existing building specialists.
  • Mentoring, training, and developing technical skills of other team members.
Requirements
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado or willingness to obtain if licensed in another state.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree with a focus in structures from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of engineering experience, with a 5 to 7-year focus on building reuse and renovation.
  • Experience with field observations, assessments, and report writing.
  • Broad experience with and extensive knowledge of local and national building codes and standards, especially the IEBC and ASCE 41.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in multiple structural systems and materials.
  • Understanding of and dedication to client-centered service and technical excellence.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Structural Engineering (SE) license in a State that offers an SE license.
  • Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, RAM, RFEM, ETABS, and RISA.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary range: $120,000 - $145,000 per year.
  • Occasional bonuses paid based on company profitability.
