Outpatient Pharmacy Specialist

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Outpatient Pharmacist will provide essential support across various Sentara outpatient pharmacies. This role is designed for a flexible schedule, requiring a minimum of 8 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours.
Work Schedule:
- Rotating shifts of 8.5 hours
- Monday to Friday
- Possible Saturday shifts at designated locations
Holiday Coverage:
Occasional shifts may be required during holidays, with specific locations closed on major holidays.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail pharmacy setting is required.
- Candidates not currently licensed in Virginia may be considered, provided they obtain their Virginia license within 90 days of employment.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage patient medication therapy in alignment with established clinical practice standards.
- Stay updated on pharmaceutical knowledge through ongoing education.
- Act as the primary source for drug-related inquiries.
- Ensure the appropriateness of all medication orders issued by physicians.
- Mentor pharmacy students as needed.
