Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technology Engineer to support our growing B+P business line in Ohio. This role can be based in either our Cleveland or Columbus offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support electrical engineering design work on assigned projects under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Design structured Telecom and Security cable infrastructure and pathways to support Voice, Data, Wi-Fi, CATV, Paging, Audio Visual, CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and other IP-Based systems.
  • Design Telecom Room layouts including connection, outlet, and system details, copper and fiber backbone transmission media and one-line diagrams, interior and exterior pathways and sizing, system equipment elevations, system diagrams, and system schedules.
  • Conduct construction oversight, including specification and contract drawing compliance, site visits, formulation of construction observation reports, and review of Submittals, RFIs, test results, and other related Construction Administration tasks.
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.
  • Prepare reports for internal and external purposes based on findings.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Principal or MEP Practice Leader in evaluating staffing needs.
  • Work cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve the company's mission.
  • Ensure discipline plans meet overall project team requirements for scope and schedule.
  • Stay current on codes and technologies appropriate to electrical, telecom, and security.
  • Ensure conformance with standards and established design practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university, plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Preferred qualifications include Professional Engineer (PE), BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), 8-10+ years of electrical and telecom consulting engineering and/or telecom experience, power systems analysis software experience (SKM, EasyPower, Etap), experience with Revit and AutoCAD design software, and strong familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, etc.).
