Position Overview: The Lead Underwriter will collaborate closely with the Head of Crisis Management to establish and grow AXA XL's Entertainment unit. This role will involve oversight of underwriting performance, portfolio management, business development, and fostering client relationships within the entertainment line of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement the underwriting strategy for the Entertainment line of business, ensuring alignment with global objectives.
  • Evaluate and price intricate and substantial risks within the entertainment sector, utilizing sound underwriting judgment while adhering to established guidelines.
  • Manage and enhance a profitable and diverse portfolio of entertainment risks, ensuring a balanced approach across various products and market segments.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with brokers, clients, and industry stakeholders, leveraging AXA XL's extensive global resources.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and market segments within the entertainment sector, in collaboration with other underwriting teams.
  • Conduct analysis of market trends, competitor actions, client requirements, and emerging risks, providing insights and recommendations to the Head of Crisis Management.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including underwriting performance, loss ratios, and portfolio metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to underwriting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior underwriters, contributing to the overall development of underwriting expertise within the Entertainment team.

This position reports to the Head of Crisis Management and Entertainment.
