We are seeking a skilled and experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join our Urology team. The ACNP will work collaboratively with our board-certified urologists and multidisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care in both clinic and hospital settings.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic urological conditions, such as kidney stones, urinary tract infections, incontinence, and benign prostatic hyperplasia.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education, medication management, and follow-up assessments.
- Assist in urological procedures in both clinic and operating room settings, such as cystoscopies, catheter placements, and minor surgical interventions.
- Collaborate with urologists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and interpret lab results to formulate appropriate care plans.
- Perform procedures under the supervision of a urologist, such as bladder instillations, prostate biopsies, and vasectomy consultations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions, and continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical skills.
- Educate patients and their families on urological conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Provide on-call coverage as required and participate in weekend or holiday rotations.
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current certification as an NP (Acute Care) by an appropriate national certifying body.
- Active and unrestricted license to practice as an NP in the state of Georgia.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in urology or a related field (preferred).
- Strong clinical skills, including experience in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
