Job Summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate SUD Counselor to join our team at the Wellness Center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in promoting the recovery and self-sufficiency of participants in our residential drug and alcohol recovery program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision and case management services for participants
  • Facilitate psycho-educational groups and document client participation
  • Conduct phone assessments and ensure all necessary documents are understood and signed by clients
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure adherence to safety and security measures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Wellness Center Program Manager, Clinical Director, and Facility Director

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, with one year of experience in medical and/or psychiatric models a plus
  • Certification/registration as an Addiction Treatment Counselor by a state-approved organization required
  • Current TB test and CPR/First Aid certification required
  • Knowledge of HMIS preferred, with a Class B Driver License and clean MVR

Working Conditions:

The SUD Counselor will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, interacting with clients, staff, and community partners. Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Must be able to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
