Shift: Nights, 4x12 Hour Shifts

Guaranteed Hours: 48.00 per week

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience

License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)

Preferred Certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (AHA or ARC)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (AHA or ARC)

Must-Have:

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school

Job Description:

  • Provide high-quality patient care consistent with professional standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting, prioritizing patient needs and safety.
  • Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and attending education programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Utilize patient education materials relevant to patient population, promoting informed decision-making and self-care.
  • Assess readiness to learn of patients, families, and caregivers, tailoring education to meet individual needs.
  • Evaluate expected patient outcomes and seek guidance as needed in the revision of care plans, ensuring effective care delivery.
  • Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care.
  • Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs, managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Consult with appropriate resources in a timely manner for patients with complex care issues, seeking guidance when needed.
  • Develop personal and professional growth goals and participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities, contributing to a culture of excellence.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Recognize and synthesize data from complex situations to determine priorities for care, making informed decisions to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Assess discharge needs of patients and families, developing relationships to advocate for their needs and ensure a smooth transition to post-acute care.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to prepare or update care plans, utilizing multidisciplinary resources to achieve optimal care delivery.
  • Stay informed through reading relevant journals and studies, sharing ideas and questions with colleagues to enhance clinical knowledge and practice.
