Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Bakery Clerk/Barista to join our team at Metropolitan Market. As a key member of our Bakery/Coffee Shop Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing high-quality coffee drinks, and maintaining a clean and welcoming store environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide prompt and friendly service to customers, answering questions and making recommendations on our products
* Prepare and serve high-quality coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages and specialty drinks
* Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the coffee shop and bakery areas
* Restock shelves and displays as needed, and ensure that all products are properly rotated and facing forward
* Participate in visual merchandising and store displays to create an attractive and inviting store environment
* Work effectively as part of a team to achieve sales and customer service goals

Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or culinary training preferred
* 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a food or beverage industry
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and team members
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask as needed
* Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and move quickly and efficiently around the store
