Respiratory Therapist RRT Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist RRT to join our team at HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the respiratory needs of patients and develop and implement the Respiratory Care Plan.
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
Requirements:
  • Current Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure.
  • American Heart Association BLS health care provider required. ACLS, PALS, and NRP within 6 months of hire.
  • Graduate of Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • Frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and moving equipment.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Customer service abilities, including effective listening skills.
