Job Summary

We are seeking a part-time Art Instructor to join our team at Friendship Community. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching art and working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the varying skill levels of our artists, incorporating themed projects and classes that focus on specific mediums.
  • Share specialized art skills with our artists, teaching basic strategies such as composition, professionalizing work, and self-presentation as artists.
  • Observe and support the health and safety of our artists, and may be required to administer medications upon necessary training.
Requirements
  • Art degree or art instruction background desired, but other relevant experience may be considered.
  • 1 year of experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities and autism.
Work Environment

This is a part-time position with varying days and hours of 8:00AM - 4:30PM. The successful candidate will work in an active art studio and in the community.

Compensation

$14.50 per hour.
