Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts standardized assessments and screenings to identify individuals with communication challenges.
  • Evaluates communication abilities (articulation, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language) to determine eligibility for services and formulate treatment recommendations.
  • Engages with various stakeholders (parents, educators, healthcare professionals) to share information, address concerns, and ensure compliance with established protocols.
  • Provides consultation to educators and families to develop tailored service plans and coordinate therapy with other disciplines.
  • Facilitates meetings for eligible individuals, including assessments, treatment planning, and training sessions for families and staff.

  • Designs comprehensive treatment plans and educational resources to mitigate the effects of communication disorders, adhering to regulatory standards.

  • Instructs staff and paraprofessionals on communication disorders and the application of assistive devices.
  • Teaches eligible individuals how to utilize communication technologies (e.g., hearing aids, augmentative devices) to support their educational success.
  • Interprets medical documentation relevant to speech and language therapy to ensure appropriate treatment plans.
  • Maintains confidentiality to protect the privacy of students, staff, and families.
  • Keeps accurate records (progress reports, treatment plans) to ensure compliance and reference availability.
  • Participates in professional gatherings to exchange information and insights.
  • Conducts site visits as necessary to provide therapy and support.
  • Prepares various documentation (activity logs, treatment reports) to track progress and communicate effectively.
  • Delivers speech and language therapy to assist individuals in overcoming communication barriers.
  • Researches effective resources and methodologies to address the needs of individuals with communication disorders.
  • Responds to inquiries from stakeholders to provide necessary information and referrals.
  • Transports necessary supplies to ensure service delivery across various locations.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication.
