Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Maine Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team as a Psychiatric Hospital Consultant Professional in Portland, Maine. As a cohesive team representing various disciplines, including Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers, Pharmacists, Resident Physicians, and Medical Students, we value teamwork and strive to create a supportive environment.
Job Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric consultation to inpatients at Maine Medical Center, with a focus on patients with substance use disorders.
- Conduct face-to-face psychiatric evaluations and medication recommendations to patients on medical/surgical units.
- Manage acute clinical scenarios and multitask in a hospital-based setting.

- Master's degree with advanced knowledge of nursing and/or medical theory and practice.
- Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure.
- Current BLS certification.
- 2+ years of patient care in ambulatory mental health or hospital settings.
- Advanced skill and knowledge in psychiatric diagnosis and psychopharmacology, with comfort in treating patients with comorbid medical problems.
