A Competitive Salary Package

Our salary range is $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year, making us one of the top-paying charter schools in the area. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health care, retirement plan, paid time off, family leave, and short-term and long-term disability.

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Elementary Special Education Teacher who can design and deliver engaging lessons that meet or exceed our high standards. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with our special education and ELL staff to implement our special education and ELL supports and comply with all state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Student Learning: Accept ultimate responsibility for your students achieving learning progress that meets or exceeds our high standards and actively develop solutions to problems, reach out for peer and leader support, and take advantage of other school resources as necessary.
  • Teaching and Assessment: Plan and deliver vibrant and engaging lessons within the framework of our carefully sequenced, standards-aligned education program. Use our highly effective formative assessments to target instruction and ensure that students are scheduled for extra help when needed.
  • Culture and Classroom Management: Communicate and model behaviors that benefit our high expectations culture and caring school climate. Apply school and classroom rules consistently and effectively, make use of preventive discipline, and effectively supervise students both in your classroom and elsewhere on school grounds.
  • Teamwork, Professional Relations, and Professional Development: See yourself as a member of a team and commit yourself to your own and your peers' ongoing professional development. Attend professional development sessions and become part of a professional learning community where you can lend assistance to and gain assistance from your grade-level peers.
  • Special Needs Students and English Language Learners: Work collaboratively with our special education and ELL staff to implement our special education and ELL supports and comply with all state and federal regulations.

Requirements

We require candidates to hold or plan to pursue a CE, CEAS, or Standard Teacher License or content certification and a Teacher of Students with Disabilities Endorsement. Candidates who meet the requirements but do not hold NJ Department of Education certification should apply for it immediately at https://nj.gov/education/license/. New Jersey requires such certification to teach in traditional or charter public schools.
