Role Summary:
The CT Imaging Specialist is responsible for interpreting requests for imaging procedures, producing high-quality CT and diagnostic images, and ensuring patient safety during the imaging process. This role involves selecting appropriate technical parameters tailored to each patient, operating imaging equipment, and adhering to safety protocols. Additionally, the specialist assists medical professionals in administering contrast agents and medications as required.
The ideal candidate will proficiently operate all necessary imaging equipment, including the computerized radiology information system and standard office technology. Collaboration with colleagues during weekend and evening shifts is essential, along with reporting any incidents to the Section Manager. The role may also involve working in specialized imaging areas and recommending maintenance for imaging equipment. Continuous education and CPR certification are mandatory to maintain compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Experience: Relevant experience demonstrating capability for the role.
- Certifications: A.R.R.T. registration or eligibility upon hire, with A.R.R.T. certification to be obtained within six months of employment.
- Professional Conduct: Uphold the core values of Mercy through compassionate care and respect for all individuals, including patients, visitors, and colleagues. Demonstrate teamwork, courtesy, and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Preferred Certification: Advanced Level certification in CT Scan or progress towards certification.
