Job Summary:

Wanzek Construction is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator - Light Equipment Specialist to join our team. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of light equipment, including compact loaders, skid steers, loader/backhoes, mini excavators, forklifts, and other heavy machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, greasing, and oiling machines.
  • Excavate trenches, move and grade material, and perform other tasks as required.
  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities and communicate clearly with crew members.
  • Perform maintenance duties, including filling out maintenance reports daily.
  • May be required to travel to different job sites on short notice.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in heavy equipment operation or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a heavy equipment operation role.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations.

Working Conditions:

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a fast-paced environment. The Equipment Operator will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions and may be exposed to hazardous materials.
