Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Coach to join our team. As a key member of our coaching staff, you will be responsible for leading swim team practices and meets, supporting students, and maintaining positive relationships with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead swim team practices and meets, providing guidance and support to swimmers
• Support students in a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to organizational guidelines and policies
• Develop and implement effective coaching strategies to improve swimmer performance
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment

Requirements

• High School Diploma and 2+ years of swim team experience
• CPR, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding Certificate
• USA Swimming Coach and YMCA Principles of Competitive Swimming and Diving certifications
• Reliable transportation to travel between locations
• Ability to recognize and respond to student needs and hazards

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 2-4 years of experience on a competitive swim team
• 2-4 years of experience as a swim team coach or instructor

Work Environment

The Swim Coach will work primarily indoors at a facility pool with water and air temperatures of 75 degrees or higher. The employee may be exposed to chemicals and fumes while performing the duties of this job.

Physical Demands

The Swim Coach must be able to walk, run, sit, stand, bend, lift, swim, and move continually during working hours. The employee must also be able to recognize and respond to distress signals.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time position with varying hours, including evenings and weekends.
