Job Overview

D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking an experienced customer service representative to join its team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining an elevated level of customer satisfaction among homeowners by facilitating all customer warranty requests.

This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for evaluating homeowner repair issues, processing work orders, performing necessary repairs, scheduling subcontractors, and ensuring all repairs are completed within compliance standards.

The ideal candidate will have prior customer service experience, preferably in the construction industry, and be proficient in MS Office and email. You must also have a valid driver's license and be willing to drive among designated communities in daytime and nighttime. The salary for this position is estimated to be around $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate homeowner repair issues to determine if they are warrantable items.
  • Process written or electronic work orders and/or verbal instructions from supervisor for homeowner repairs.
  • Perform necessary repairs to homes such as carpentry work, drywall, texture repair and painting.
  • Schedule and manage subcontractors to make designated warranty repairs.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed within compliance standards.

Requirements
  • Prior customer service experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three or more years related experience, including carpentry work, drywall, texture repair and painting.
  • Must have a vehicle capable of carrying supplies, valid drivers license and be willing to drive among designated communities in daytime and nighttime.
  • Excel in effective and positive communications.
  • Work effectively in high pressure situations.
  • Ability to work independently and be productive without supervision.
  • Ability to provide a systematic approach in carrying out assignments.
