Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist - Contract Position

The Sigma Healthcare team is seeking a skilled MRI Specialist to join our dedicated staff at a contracted healthcare facility.

Work Schedule: Various shifts available.

Position Overview:
  • Conducts imaging procedures at a proficient level, ensuring compliance with patient care standards for designated age groups in the clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the Magnetic Resonance imaging process and adheres to safety protocols within the Magnetic Resonance environment.
  • Ensures the safety of patients and staff by following established safety guidelines.
  • Prepares and positions patients for Magnetic Resonance examinations; provides thorough explanations of procedures and addresses any patient inquiries.
  • Executes Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures, including neuro, body, and extremity imaging, in accordance with protocols established by a Radiologist.
  • Administers venous access for patients requiring IV contrast as per Radiologist directives.
  • Records essential data into Radiology Imaging Systems, IDX Imaging Suite, and Picture Archive Communication System for effective image management.
  • Processes images as required to maintain quality standards.
  • Exhibits the ability to accurately identify anatomical structures on imaging results.
  • Conducts quality control assessments of imaging equipment and reports any discrepancies.
  • Informs the Team Leader and relevant maintenance personnel regarding equipment issues.
  • Participates in supply management by monitoring inventory levels and notifying appropriate staff as needed.
  • Acts as a liaison within the Radiology department, providing support to physicians and escalating issues to the Team Leader as necessary.
  • Handles non-controlled medications during imaging exams and procedure setups.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required).
Certifications and Licenses:
  • Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body, Certified MRI Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Certified Radiology Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
