POSITION: Field Operations Manager
The primary role of the Field Operations Manager is to oversee the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) functions to ensure the optimal performance of solar energy systems. This position is crucial in monitoring compliance with contractual obligations, delivering exceptional customer service, facilitating efficient workflows, and ensuring the solar systems operate at peak efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise teams of solar technicians and repair personnel to ensure all warranty repairs and service requests are completed within established service levels and budget constraints.
• Provide first and second level diagnostics for all service inquiries related to solar systems.
• Coordinate the procurement of materials, manage inventory, oversee fleet vehicles, and schedule technicians to meet service level objectives for system repairs.
• Act as the Responsible Managing Employee in the assigned region/state.
• Ensure the successful completion of physical projects, including obtaining necessary permits.
• Organize field operations to service systems, utilizing either internal resources or partner technicians.
• Manage all customer warranty and insurance claims processes.
• Deliver product and service training sessions to customers and partners.
• Oversee service and work order management.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for process modifications or enhancements to ensure maximum efficiency of company resources.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Solid understanding of residential construction or electrical systems.
• Excellent written communication skills for effective interaction with all management levels.
• Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Exceptional judgment in customer relations and resource management.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team and engage with various departments.
• Capacity to perform under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• This is a remote position that requires fieldwork.
• Estimated travel time is 20%, with locations varying based on job requirements.
• Driving is a necessary component of this role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; assistance will be provided for larger items.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
• Work may involve various physical postures, including reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, squatting, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, and handling objects above or below shoulder height.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Electrical training is required.
• Must possess a Master Electrician License or equivalent in the state of residence.
• Willingness to obtain a Master Electrician License in other states and maintain qualifying agent status across multiple states.
• Relevant years of experience in the field.
• Previous managerial experience overseeing multiple reports.
• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to pursue additional certifications in other states as necessary.
• Bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish are advantageous.
• Strong customer service skills are essential.
