About This Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat Department Manager to join our team at The GIANT Company. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and profitable operations of the meat department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process deliveries, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Weigh, price, and label products to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stock cases and prepare valued-added products to meet customer demands.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, offering product knowledge and suggestive selling techniques.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and product control to minimize waste and maximize sales.
  • Lead and train team members, promoting positive morale and a culture of excellence.
  • Meet sales, gross profit, shrink, and labor targets, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Reconcile invoices, execute merchandising plans, and conduct department walks and staff meetings.
  • Ensure sanitation and food safety standards are met, and quality assurance is maintained.
Requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to read, communicate, and understand company policies and safety regulations.
  • Must meet ergonomic and physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to use or learn to use equipment and tools used to perform the job.
  • Must meet company performance standards, including regular attendance.
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Serve Safe Certification
  • Basic computer skills
  • Minimally 1-year relevant work experience
