Job Opportunity

St. Louis CITY SC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Public Relations Intern to join our team. As a key member of our Public Relations department, you will assist in the creation of media materials, monitor and track media coverage, and analyze industry trends.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of press releases, media alerts, and fact sheets.
  • Monitor and track media coverage, and assist in the creation of weekly and quarterly communications reports.
  • Research industry trends, news, and award opportunities.
  • Create and pitch feature ideas to local, regional, and national media.
  • Support interview preparation, including creating strategic messaging and background information.
  • Write stories for internal and external audiences.
  • Provide on-site assistance at media and club events.
  • Develop and update media lists and influencer outreach lists.

Requirements:

  • Working towards or recently received an undergraduate or graduate degree in corporate communications, public relations, or journalism.
  • Experience in corporate communications, public relations, or marketing roles, with a focus on the sports, media, and entertainment industries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including creative approaches to internal and external marketing and communications platforms.
  • Knowledge of the local sports, entertainment, and media landscape.
  • Ability to demonstrate uncompromising judgment and discretion to protect the confidentiality/privacy of others, and company documents and records.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented, and strong sense of accountability, with flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively with all personalities to support a strong culture.
  • Ability to compose documents in AP style, using correct grammar and spelling, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
