Virtual Obstetric Nurse

The Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Virtual Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. As a Virtual RN, you will provide innovative nursing care through audio-visual technology, collaborating with bedside nurses to ensure quality patient monitoring and support.

Salary Information:
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $32-$46.50 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, you may be eligible for our Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps you pay off your loans and save money.
Job DescriptionThe Virtual RN provides professional nursing care with collaboration from the beside nurse through two-way audio-visual technology and monitoring data through specialized software. This position assists in coaching and mentoring department staff in areas of clinical and professional practice.
Avera requires all nurses to practice at a competent level of nursing care and demonstrate a competent and professional level of behavior in his/her role as a RN.
The American Nurses Associations (ANA) Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice are exemplified within the position description. The Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide nursing care for the patient.
He/she assumes responsibility and accountability for his/her individual actions and outcomes of patient care delivered on his/her shift.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of obstetric inpatient experience
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure
- Certification in specialty required within 1 year
