Overview

We are seeking a skilled Customer Service Specialist to join our UroPartners LLC team. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, resolving billing inquiries and discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.

Job Summary

The Customer Service Specialist will facilitate overdue patient balances, resolve bad-debt accounts, and communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and concerns. This individual will also process returned mail, provide financial advocacy for patients, and prepare accounts for collection agency.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate overdue patient balances by following bad-debt controls checklist and coordinating contact with collection agency.
  • Review account information to identify trends and preventable root cause issues.
  • Process all returned mail by contacting patients and ensuring correct addresses are on file.
  • Provide financial advocacy for patients by having working knowledge of budget and payment program policies and charity care policies.
  • Prepare accounts for collection agency by making valid or authorized adjustments, scanning, and sending accounts to vendor.
  • Work patient AR (Accounts Receivable) daily to maintain management productivity standards.
  • Submit patient refunds to Credit Balance and Refunds Specialist to balance patient accounts.
  • Assist front desk/call center staff with delinquent accounts.
  • Communicate with Financial Counselor Specialist, Payment Posting Specialist, Claim Resolution Specialist, and Business Office staff as necessary.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of business operations and how actions contribute to company performance.
  • Excellent customer service skills, medical terminology, healthcare coding systems, and clinics functions knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Practice Management (PM) system and other software systems according to Business Office protocols.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures for compliance, medical billing, and coding.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, pay attention to detail, and remain calm in difficult situations.
