We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Point Quest Therapeutic Services. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and stakeholders, providing high-quality speech and language services in a collaborative and supportive environment.
About the RoleThis full-time position is available in the Southeast Houston Metro area, working with a network of well-respected school districts. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing individual, group, and classroom-based therapeutic services to students with speech and language disorders. You will also be involved in assessment, consultation, and student and case management.
Responsibilities and Duties- Plan and provide therapeutic services to students consistent with speech and language goals as written in the Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- Evaluate effectiveness and outcomes of treatment/response to therapy interventions (RTI) to identify student progress and/or determine readiness for termination of therapy services.
- Conduct independent evaluations to assess students with speech or language disorders and conditions to determine eligibility for services.
- Develop clinical management strategies or procedures and diagnostic statements by interpreting observations or data.
- Coach and involve caregivers in the evaluation & therapeutic process.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other interdisciplinary team members to plan and implement classroom activities to improve communication skills of students across educational settings.
- Provide professional development in assigned schools to help school personnel identify and understand communication deficits in students.
- Participate in in-service education and team conferences.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents about the student's therapy goals and educational needs.
- Participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process to assist in interpretation of assessment data, appropriate placement, and goal setting for students with communication disorders or conditions according to district procedures.
- Current, active TX state license as a Speech Language Pathologist, or be eligible for licensure.
- DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance.
- Computer-literate; knowledge of standard company software applications, internet.
- Effective interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient language and communication skills, including business writing and professional telephone manners.
- Reliability, dependability, and flexibility.
