We are seeking an experienced Addiction Counselor to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals who deliver quality substance abuse treatment to men.
About the Role:
This position will be responsible for conducting substance abuse diagnostic assessments, creating treatment plans based on the ASAM 6 dimensions criteria, and leading group activities, individual counseling, and family education for clients assigned to them.
The ideal candidate should have experience working with individuals struggling with addiction, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a treatment team.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts substance abuse diagnostic assessments and creates treatment plans within the ASAM 6 dimensions criteria.
- Leads group activities, individual counseling, and family education sessions for clients assigned to them.
- Participates in client-staff meetings and contributes to the development of effective treatment plans.
- Prepares and delivers lectures related to alcohol/drug problems to the entire client population as needed.
- Supervises interns or trainees and provides direct supervision for other members of staff, acting as a member of the counseling team.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, nursing, sociology, human services, or psychology).
- Licensed as a Minnesota Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or granted a temporary license (ADC-T).
- At least one year of experience working in addiction counseling.
