Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is a critical role within the Gateway Group Personnel team, responsible for ensuring maximum equipment utilization and optimal production line performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues in the controls / PLC area, utilizing technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
  • Optimize equipment reliability through regular maintenance and services, minimizing downtime and increasing overall efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to develop and implement maintenance strategies, ensuring machines operate at full capacity.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, performing repairs and maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen projects, to enhance processes and improve overall performance.
  • Maintain organized maintenance storage areas, ensuring necessary repair/replacement parts are readily available and easily accessible.
Requirements:
  • Vocational, Associate's, or higher degree preferred; minimum High School diploma required.
  • 2-3 years previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of electrical distribution, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Excellent logical problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution, hydraulics, and pneumatics, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
  • Applicable knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Competencies:
  • Technical expertise, with a strong understanding of maintenance procedures and equipment operation.
  • Teamwork and collaboration, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Motivation and results-oriented, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and meeting production targets.
