About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Lineman to join our team at Southern California Edison. As a key member of our Transmission organization, you will be responsible for the construction and maintenance of our sub-transmission and bulk power lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Barehand and Live-line work methods to ensure the safe and efficient installation, removal, and repair of overhead and underground transmission systems.
  • Install, remove, and make repairs to transmission, sub-transmission, distribution, and communication systems, including poles, cross arms, towers, and equipment.
  • Operate construction vehicles and equipment, including helicopters, to conduct overhead work and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other crew members, instruct apprentices, and direct helpers to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Train and assist other crew members, classes, and work units as required.
  • Maintain a safety-conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
Requirements
  • Certified Journeyman Lineman with a valid Journeyman Lineman card.
  • Weigh less than 285 pounds to ensure safe operation of safety equipment.
  • Valid State Class A Commercial driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience conducting line work from a helicopter.
  • Barehanding and Liveline work experience.
  • Skills in electrical utility construction methods and standards, overhead and underground materials, and operation of construction equipment.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity, electrical circuitry, and operation of electrical equipment.
  • Experience with mechanical principles, rigging, and operation of tools and equipment.
  • Experience with State General Orders 95 and 128.
  • Experience working with environmental compliance and regulatory requirements.
