About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Top Trimmer/Climber to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for performing line clearing and tree trimming duties, including pruning treetops and limbs, and removing broken limbs from wires and roofs.

Job Description

As a Top Trimmer/Climber, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in a tight-knit crew working in a team environment.
  • Performing line clearing and tree trimming duties, including pruning treetops and limbs, and removing broken limbs from wires and roofs.
  • Climbing trees and operating a bucket for trimming and removals in and above the power lines.
  • Preparing, operating, and maintaining all tools and equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
  • Removing limbs and brush, cleanup and disposing of debris.
  • Mixing and applying spray chemicals to preserve desirable vegetation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Two years or more experience working as a Top Trimmer, working around utility lines.
  • Knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and correct arboriculture techniques for trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining, and removing trees close to energized conductors.
  • Experience in tree climbing, knot tying, and PPE.
  • The ability to perform physical labor, including lifting a minimum of 50 lbs to shoulder height or more.
  • Capability of operating two-handed equipment, such as chain saws and circular saws, and the physical ability to endure extreme climate variances.
  • A willingness and ability to obtain specialized training and certifications as required, such as Local, state, and federal licenses.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR cards.
  • Pass a pre-employment Drug Test and Background Check, and job duty skills tests.
  • Ability to obtain a Valid Driver's License.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including affordable health insurance plans, retirement plans, paid time off, and employee assistance programs.
