Job Title: Orthopedic Care Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Care Specialist to join our team at OrthoNebraska. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing medical services and clinical education to patients in a clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical services and clinical education to patients in a clinic setting.
  • Promote the professional practice of the clinic by maintaining and improving rapport with peers, patients, and the medical community.
  • Responsible for dictating medical findings on patients in a timely and concise manner.
  • Assist physicians in writing new prescriptions and prescription refills.
  • Communicate test results to patients in a timely manner.
  • Assist physicians in the completion of Worker's Compensation forms, dictation of attorney letters, and other responsibilities as requested.
  • Assist with on-call duties as needed.
  • Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Attend and participate in department meetings.
  • Attend mandatory educational programs.
  • Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
  • Licensed or licensure eligible as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Nebraska and Iowa.
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience within an Orthopedic environment (especially with knee and hip treatment).
  • Efficient use of information systems, data processing systems, telecommunication devices, office equipment, and etc.
