Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospice RN to join our team at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare. As a Hospice RN, you will provide direct patient care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses, utilizing the Nursing Process to effectively manage the Plan of Care for each patient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Provide patient education and support to patients and families to facilitate optimal comfort and well-being.
  • Document and communicate patient information in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Delegate patient care duties to Nursing Assistants as needed.
  • Continuously develop personal skills and knowledge to enhance practice and profession.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a current license to practice professional nursing in North Carolina.
  • Two years of experience, preferably in Home Care or Hospice or related oncology experience.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing at least 45 pounds, and to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent exposure to blood and body fluids, infectious diseases, and needle puncture wounds.
  • May be exposed to dangerous animals and traffic hazards while home visiting.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
