Job Summary

As a Clinical Nutrition Manager(Pedi/NICU) at Memorial Hermann Health System, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of nutrition care for Pediatrics/NICU, HVI, and Hospital-Based Clinic patients. This role requires a strong analytical and problem-solving skills to weigh multiple factors when dealing with patient, families, staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluates current research/evidence to implement best practice standards.
  • Develops and implements effective operational plans and short-term strategies to address key issues and achieve long-term goals and objectives.
  • Utilizes emerging technology and decision support tools to improve clinical outcomes, operational performance, and refine practices.
  • Effectively communicates both interpersonally and in formal presentations.
  • Provides an environment which fosters employee retention, engagement, and progressive professional development.
  • Conducts quality assurance clinical audits, competency assessments, and performance evaluations in order to ensure the Standards of Practice and Standards of Professional Performance for Registered Dietitians is adhered to.
  • Ensures fiscal responsibility by developing budgets that monitor expenditures and adhere to sound business practices.
  • Manages, supervises, trains, and mentors department personnel.
  • Provides nutrition education and expertise to physicians, patients, families, and staff.
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in Nutrition in order to enhance professional expertise by attending professional meetings, reading appropriate journals, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and regulatory standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
