Job Summary

A&A Transfer, a leading industrial rigging and crane company in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, is seeking a skilled CDL-A Driver/Rigger to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely transporting equipment and crews to job sites, handling oversized and overweight loads, and ensuring the highest level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Routinely hauls oversized/overweight loads, up to 12' wide and 110,000 lb. gross weight, while adhering to DOT regulations and safe hauling practices.
  • Drives tractor & trailer rigs to transport equipment and crews to job sites, ensuring safe handling of loads, securement of loads, loading and unloading of equipment.
  • Signals or verbally directs workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials.
  • Attaches loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
  • Controls movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain falls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment.
  • Tilts, dips, and turns suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques.
  • Knowledgeable in alignment, leveling, and anchoring of machinery.
  • Manipulates rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment, ships, or theatrical sets.
  • Attaches pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps.
  • Operates vehicles, mechanized devices, or equipment, running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment's such as forklifts, scissor lifts, tractor trailers, telehandlers, aerial boom lifts, etc.
  • Tests rigging to ensure safety and reliability, dismantles and stores rigging equipment after use.
  • Selects gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules.
Requirements
  • Valid Class A or B CDL
  • Understand and follow policies and procedures
  • Basic knowledge of operating equipment (Forklifts, man lifts, platforms lift, etc.)
  • Ability to use take measure, hand power, and pneumatic tools
Working Conditions

Performing general physical activities, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials up to 50 pounds.
