Cloud Data Architect - Global Solutions

Company Overview

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is a leader in the cloud computing industry, providing a comprehensive and broadly adopted platform for businesses of all sizes. With a strong focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, we strive to become Earth's Best Employer.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Architect to join our team. As a key member of our Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO), you will work closely with customers to design and implement scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address their complex challenges. This role requires expertise in cloud-based solutions, including managed services such as Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Amazon Data Firehose, and Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink.

In this position, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for helping customers leverage AWS managed services and self-managed Apache Kafka and Apache Flink running on AWS to solve their data management needs. You will also have the opportunity to shape and execute a strategy to build mind share and broad use of AWS within organizations ranging from new start-ups to large enterprise customers.

The ability to link technology with measurable business value is critical to success in this role. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand advanced cloud-based solutions and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud.

About the Team

The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) works backwards from customers to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. We pride ourselves on thinking big, delivering exceptional results for our customers, and working across AWS as #OneTeam.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
  • Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain-aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers' largest and most critical business challenges.
  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.
  • Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best-in-class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
  • Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
  • Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • 7+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
  • 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
  • 5+ years management of technical, customer-facing resources.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS include:

  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive-level stakeholders or clients.
  • Experience working with end-user or developer communities.
  • Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS.
  • Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
  • Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional or Cloud DevOps Engineering).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
Benefits

At Amazon Web Services, Inc., we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • A competitive salary range of $138,200-$239,000 per year.
  • Equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
